Our PhD researchers Giorgia Risso and Alice Keirle took part in the EMBO|FEBS Lecutre Course “Cancer research: from fundamental insights to clinical application”, held from 17 to 23 August in Spetses, Greece.
The course brought together PhD students, postdocs, and leading experts in cancer research. Topics included cancer signalling and metabolism, genome instability, the tumour microenvironment, and the translation of fundamental discoveries into clinical applications.
eRaDicate unites researchers across Europe to develop innovative approaches to cancer relapse and metastasis, and opportunities like this are an importnt part of the doctoral training experience. Beyond the scientific programme, the week offered an excellent setting to exchange ideas, discuss research across different fields, and build connections with fellow early-career researchers from around the world.
It was a valuable experience for Giorgia and Alice, and another opportunity to strengthen the international and interdisciplinary nature of the network.
