Agnes Graf’s secondment to Physiolution

March 31, 2026

In March 2026, I had the opportunity to complete my second secondment at Physiolution in Wrocław, Poland. Physiolution specializes in bio-predictive solubulity and dissolution testing for oral drug development. During my stay, I worked with their LoVol® system, which enables high throughput testing at low volumes. Using this setup, I evaluated my formulations to better understand and predict their biorelevant behaviour.

The collaboration gave me valuable practical experience beyond data generation for my PhD. I got involved in method development and validation, which helped me improve my experimental approach and gain new technical skills. Working closely with the team also gave me an insight into the versatility of their work and how their methods can be applied across different stages of drug development.

After the three weeks, both Physiolution and my lab group from Trinity College Dublin attended the PBP conference in Prague. This was a great way to connect my experimental work with current developments in the field, and chat with other researchers, as well as make new connections.
