A recent TG Academy webinar hosted by TissueGnostics GmbH, featuring Dr. Martin Schepelmann and Prof. Cesar Cobaleda, is now available online.
The session opened with an introduction by Martin Schepelmann, who outlined the scope and scientific direction of the eRaDicate doctoral network and positioned the project within the broader landscape of cancer stem cell research and interdisciplinary training. This set the stage for the main scientific focus of the webinar.
The core of the event was a keynote lecture by Prof. Cesar Cobaleda, member of the eRaDicate Advisory Board. His talk offered a comprehensive and integrative view of cancer stem cell (CSC) biology, addressing fundamental concepts such as cellular identity, plasticity and hierarchy within tumors. He discussed how stem-like properties emerge and are maintained in cancer, and why these properties are critical for understanding tumor initiation, progression, therapy resistance, and relapse.
The webinar illustrated how technological approaches, such as quantitative tissue analysis and spatial context, can contribute to resolving open questions in CSC research, aligning closely with the interdisciplinary aims of eRaDicate.
