The University of Wroclaw is the fourth biggest University in Poland. The Faculty of Biotechnology, the newest of the 10 faculties of UWr, has cell culture facilities for work with GMO, flow cytometry, cell sorting and super-resolution fluorescent microscopy units, PCR and Real Time PCR facilities, protein expression, mass spectrometry and Biacore facilities.

Ewa Marcinskowska, the vice dean of the faculty, has studied the mode of action of nuclear receptor ligands for 25 years and her interests include membrane and nuclear receptor signal transduction, transcription factor circuitries and differentiation therapies for AML. She was deputy dean for Educational Affairs for 3 years and director of PhD studies for 4 years.
